Where it fits
Cascade Yarns 128 Superwash is a bulky-weight yarn (CYC 5). Its standard put-up gives 117 metres per 100 g, which is the figure to use when comparing it with another yarn. The recommended needle is 6 mm. The manufacturer's gauge is 14 sts / 10 cm.
Superwash wool is machine washable, but it will still stretch under its own weight when wet. Dry flat and avoid a hot tumble dryer.
Substitution notes
Match by length and gauge band before anything else. A replacement within roughly 10% of 117 m per 100 g will usually land in the same fabric territory; a larger gap means you should recalculate the project quantity and swatch again. Fibre composition matters too: the blend's behaviour after blocking is as important as its stitch gauge.
